Investor's Business Daily - Newly public Twitter (TWTR) proved popular with investors this week, but it has long been a favorite target of comedians. The San Francisco-based microblogging service and news feed went public Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange. Twitter priced its IPO at $26 a share, but the stock opened at 45.10 and quickly climbed to 50.09. It ended its first day at 44.90. On its second day as a public company, Twitter shares dropped 7% to 41.64, giving it a market capitalization of nearly $23 billion. Still, not bad for a company that has never been profitable.
